About the Business
Ralph Ingram founded this Practice in 1931 having qualified in 1928. He was awarded an Honorary MSc from Loughborough University in 1971 for his services to further education in setting up Stamford Hall as a Co-Operative College. He was also a Chairman of Loughborough Magistrates.
Ralph worked for professional advancement both nationally and locally and was National Chairman of the Association of Optometrists during the 1950's. Ralph Ingram's aim was to provide a complete ophthalmic service rather than just sell spectacles. He was always interested in innovation, and imported the first custom ophthalmic chair into the UK from the USA.
